The Aeronautics Institute of Technology hosted the IWADS 2022 (international Workshop Applications of Dynamical Systems) on November 1, 2022, which brought together researchers from the field of dynamic systems at ITA, the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto and the Faculty of Sciences from the University of Porto.

During the event, Professor António Pedro Aguiar, from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, presented SYSTEC (Research Center for Systems and Technologies), an initiative of the University that brings together several engineering laboratories of the University, focusing on the area of robotics , control systems, smart industry, transport and renewable energy. Professor Sílvio Gama presented the CMUP (Mathematics Center of the University of Porto), and highlighted that the Center offers scholarship opportunities for foreign graduate students and already has consolidated partnerships with Brazilian Universities and Institutes.

In the technical sections of the event, the participants presented works involving applications of the theory of dynamical systems in several areas, such as plasma physics, heliophysics, fluid physics and epidemiology. Leonardo Gomes, a student from the Graduate Program in Physics at ITA (PG-FIS), presented the work "Origin of multifractality in solar wind turbulence", a study of the multifractal character of time series of the magnetic field in the Earth's magnetopause region.
