The XVI ITA Physics Meeting (EFITA) took place between October 3rd and 5th at ITA.
EFITA is a traditional meeting of ITA's Physics Postgraduate Program (PG-FIS), which takes place annually. In addition to lectures relating to research carried out in the context of PG-FIS, the event also features guest speakers who carry out outstanding research in various areas. At the opening, Prof. Rodrigo Capaz, from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, acting president of the Brazilian Physics Society, presented the lecture entitled “Breaking Ultrafine Ionic Threads at LNNano/CNPEM”. At the closing, we had the presence of Prof. Kaline Coutinho, director of the Physics Institute of the University of São Paulo (IFUSP), who presented the lecture “Solvent Effect on the Electronic and Structural Properties of Ru complexes as Water-splitting Catalyzes”.
This year, the XVI EFITA brought as its motivating theme “Physics on the Frontier of Technology and Innovation”. To highlight this topic, we invited professor Suelo Cusódio, from InovaLab (ITA Innovation Laboratory), a specialist in the area of innovation, to talk about this topic at XVI EFITA.
